The compound microscope is one of the two types of modern microscopes (the other being the stereo microscope). It is called compound because it uses over a large optical part. The microscope uses optical lenses of the objective and eyepiece to give you a better overview of the sample.
Way Back Then
In ancient times, the compound microscope can be monocular or binocular. A compound that is monocular where you only need to use one of your eyes to look through the eyepiece. A compound microscope, on the other hand, allows the use your two eyes. Today, you do not see one more monocular microscope. If you know someone using one, please tell him that the world has already modernized. Telling him he is already a better way to experience the world of micro – and it is through the binocular microscope. In fact, there is something better on the list, and called the trinocular microscope.
A trinocular microscope is simply a spin-off of the binocular, where a third vertical viewing port is available. Given that no ordinary human being, has three eyes, the third part is not done to your third eye. Instead, it can be used by a viewer of a second – your instructor, perhaps, to display the same specimen you are trying to address. Alternatively, the third port can be used for a camera (video or still).
Work together

As mentioned previously, the compound microscope is powerful because of the use of two optical elements. Let what each part means, and it is used for:
a. Objective lenses – lenses of the lens are those closest to sample. They are primarily used to collect light from the specimen. A microscope is usually comprised of lenses 3 at 5 goals, each with a different degree of magnification.
The objective lenses are held together by the shoulder. By rotating the shoulder, you can select the objective lens to use.
b. The eye. This is the part where you put your eye to be a clear vision of the sample examined. This is cylindrical. The eyepiece, also called the eye is actually a goal.
Using the two optical mechanisms, the compound microscope is often limited when it comes to magnification. Imagine you have a lens about your eye (the eye) to help you see the specimen, but you also have the objective lenses of different! Certainly, viewing a single specimen has never been clearer.
Yet there are many terms similar to the microscope side from the compound and stereo. If differentiate the two – Add to that the binoculars and Trinocular – the mind is already staggering, how much more if you add a metallurgical research and a fluorescent microscope on the list? Now it looks like a lot of work.
But never mind. Remember certainly all the words after you’ve spent considerable time studying them. In the meantime, focus your attention on the compound microscope is the type that uses two optical parts to give you better magnification.
