It’s almost true. In college I wrote a paper summarizing "live mounts" for transmission electron microscopy. These did exist, but were generally unsatisfactory. Having a cathode ray shot through it tends to kill a living specimen.

It depends on what you are looking at. If it is bacteria you;ll have to use the largest mag.

You’ve got optical microscopes which include light microscopes (using visible light) and electron microscopes using non-visible light.

Ther’re are also microscopes which use ions (field ion microscopes) and others which use sound waves to distinguish between objects.

Extremely unimpressive review. For future reference, when buying technology it is infinitely more impressive to see a licensed professional putting the device through the practical applications of the device. Even a novice hobby practicioner would not be impressed by anything less.

Drivers are software makes the hardware work. Some drivers are invisible and run in the background. Some, like webcam drivers, are applications that you can see and let you see the image the webcam is taking, or whatever the hardware’s purpose is.

i’m a bit confused now, with drivers do you mean an application? But i think it might work with photo booth, because the microscope is nothing more than a magnifying web cam.
