NOTE: The following information is for faculty notified of acceptance for the SCAR 2003 Annual Meeting. The deadline for submitting an abstract for the SCAR 2004 Annual Meeting in Vancouver, BC, Canada - May 20-23, 2004 will be September 12, 2003.

  Scientific Presenters | Posters and Demos
 

All faculty must register for the meeting: Meeting Registration (pdf)
Faculty Onsite Instructions for ALL Speakers
Upon arrival at the meeting. presenters are to proceed to the Speaker Ready Room (Kent Room, 3rd Fl, Sheraton Boston Hotel) to view presentations. Speakers are requested to bring a final presentation on disk or CD-ROM to the Speaker Ready Room 24 hours prior to presentations labeled with your name, title of presentation, and the name, date & time of session. If you are unable to provide your final presentation onsite 24 hours before your presentation, please mail a CD or disk to the SCAR office to be received no later than June 2, 2003.

Friday, June 6 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Saturday, June 7 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Presenters need to plan on using a PC PowerPoint (or similar) presentation. There will not be a Mac option, or an option for conventional slides at SCAR 2003. 
Meeting Rooms will be set with: Standard setup of podium, with podium light and microphone, a lavaliere microphone, laser pointer, laptop computer with MS office standard, LCD projector and screen.

Scientific Presenters
The SCAR 2003 Proceedings will be published as a supplement to the Journal of Digital Imaging and available at the 2003 Annual Meeting.
FULL PAPER SUBMISSION TO  JDI
Each author is requested to submit a full paper of their SCAR 2003 scientific presentation to a JDI editor or staff person at the SCAR/JDI booth in the exhibitor registration area at the Hynes Convention Center or to your scientific session chair at the time of presentation.

Authors that submit full papers to the Journal of Digital Imaging (JDI) before or at the annual meeting will be given a "JDI Contributor" ribbon and a special gift at the meeting.

Papers will be peer-reviewed for publication in JDI and if accepted for publication will be listed in Index Medicus. The Journal of Digital Imaging reserves the right of first refusal.

Posters and Demos
The posters and demonstrations are an integral part of the SCAR 2003 Annual Meeting program.

POSTER & DEMONSTRATION LOCATION:
Posters and demonstrations will be set up for SCAR 2003 in the Back Bay C Room at the Sheraton Boston Hotel.

Please check in at the SCAR Registration Counter located in the Back Bay A Room to receive your poster or demonstration location.

INSTALLTION & DISMANTLING:
Each presenter is responsible for the installation and dismantling of their display.

Set-Up Times:
Friday, June 6 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Saturday, June 7 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Posters and Demos must be completely set up by 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 7.

Open Hours:
Saturday, June 7 12:00 noon - 5:30 pm
Sunday, June 8 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday, June 9 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Tuesday, June 10 Posters and Demos not open for review

Dismantling:
Monday, June 9 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Tuesday, June 10 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Posters and Demos must be removed from the Back Bay C Room no later than 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 10.

DEMOS:
Demonstrations will include a 3' x 6' table and electrical connection. Back-illumination (viewboxes) will not be available. Demo area will have a 4' (vertical) x 8' (horizontal) tackboard to display materials.

POSTER & DEMO SESSION:
The Poster and Demonstration Session is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, 1:15 pm - 3:00 pm, and will be held in the Back Bay C Room. Each presenter is asked to be available to discuss his or her presentation during this time.

AWARDS:
Awards and Cash prizes will be presented for the best scientific exhibits during the SCAR 2003 Welcome Member Reception to be held at the Prudential Building, Top of the Hub on Sunday evening, June 8 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Please join us. To be eligible for an award, authors must turn in a full paper for peer-review to the Journal of Digital Imaging before or at the SCAR 2003 meeting.

SECURITY:
Neither the Sheraton Boston Hotel nor SCAR will be responsible for loss or damage to any display or equipment for any cause.
