Announcing the return of the SCAR PACS Administration Course - a special one-day session at the Hyatt Regency Hotel  in Vancouver, BC, Canada on Wednesday, May 19, 2004, one day prior to the SCAR 2004 Annual Meeting.

Are you a radiologist, CIO, or project manager trying to get your facility filmless? Have you ever wondered how many people it takes to setup and run a PACS? Come to a one day PACS administration overview to understand how to staff for PACS. Learn how to hire professionals for the PACS team and know what they should be doing to ensure a successful PACS imple- mentation. The course is designed to provide a decision support matrix to let you know what the PACS team should be doing. The course will also cover the types of people on the team and their competencies. This course is particularly useful for PACS administrators trying to understand the full scope of the job requirements.

This one-day course will:

  • Introduce the core competencies of PACS Administration

  • Present an overview of each of three role areas: business, technical and users

  • Provide a roadmap to the rest of the SCAR conference.

The PACS Administration Course scheduled for May 19, 2004 has been approved by the ACR Committee on Accreditation for Continuing Medical Education for 6 hours Category 1 CME credit and 6 hours of Category A credit.
