Dear SCAR 2004 Exhibitor:

1. Canada has rules and regulations for shipping materials and freight across the border.  Please give Bob Parker with Mendelssohn (SCAR’s custom broker) a call to discuss what forms you need to complete and what procedure you need to follow to ensure a smooth shipment.  His phone number is 604-687-5535 x7705 or email to robtparker@mend.com.  If you are transporting materials by automobile, you should also notify Mendelssohn to discuss what you need to do to cross the border without any problems.

2. A reminder that if you are shipping to the Advanced Warehouse it must arrive by May 11^th.  SCAR HIGHLY recommends that you ship to the Advance Warehouse.  It will help you tremendously in getting your freight into the VCEC early and expedite your booth set up. 

3. All U.S. Citizens traveling into Canada are required to provide proof of citizenship.  A driver’s license is NOT accepted as proof of citizenship.  For native-born Americans and/or U.S. citizens, Canadian Immigration requires either a passport or a birth certificate, supported by a photo ID.  For more information on entry regulations go to www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.html

4. The Pan Pacific, Hyatt Regency and Fairmont Hotels are sold out for the SCAR meeting and SCAR will be contracting with other Vancouver hotels.  If you need additional hotel rooms, please contact Heidi Prange at the SCAR office.

5. Visit the SCAR 2004 Press Room, for information on the 2^nd annual media event, press releases, and the 2004 media list.  Exhibiting companies are encouraged to bring press kits and to schedule news conferences as applicable.  The SCAR meeting is the key midyear event for new product and technology development announcements, implementation progress reports and general industry updates.

6. The pre-registrant list will be sent out by email the week of May 3. Registrations are strong and ahead of 2003 for the same number of weeks out from the meeting. Expect about 800 pre-registrant names.

7. Exhibitor presentations have been assigned and are posted on the SCAR Website.

8. There are 5 panels available for sponsorship on the inside left wall of the vendor presentation theater. These panels facing the seats are 3 meters in size (10'x8'). The cost is $1500.00 per panel.  Please contact Heidi Prange right away if you are interested in sponsoring one of the panels.  Your logo and booth number will appear on the panel.
    
   
9. Lastly, if you place your furnishings and carpet order in early by May 4^th, you receive a 30% discount!
