Session Description:
The goal of this roundtable session is to provide an open forum to
discuss the potential of a career in Imaging Informatics. The groundwork
of the discussion will focus on the steps needed to further formalize
the profession to potential employers. Discussions will include
certification and credentialing as well as exam development, as well as
cover the need of a formal baccalaureate curriculum.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify several avenues for advancement in an imaging informatics
career.
2. Describe the history and the development process of the IIP career.
3. Explore development of a formal academic curriculum for IIPs.
