Is it because stereo microscopes have a secondary lens to correct the inverted image, like binoculars?
Thanks Asst Prof, but what is the actual mechanism for why it isn’t inverted? If compound microscopes use lenses, and stereo microscopes use lenses, why is one image inverted and the other not. I know the practical reason as to why the image is not inverted, but what is the mechanical, underlying reason…Why does a stereo microscope do differently than a compound microscope to produce a "correct" image?
