Each scientific session features moderated,
peer-reviewed presentations grouped into related categories. This year’s program includes 54 abstracts presented
as papers in 10 scientific sessions. Six of the abstract authors, whose
abstracts were highly ranked by peer-reviewers, have been invited to
give an extended presentation of their papers.
The scientific program
also features a poster and demonstration session and the R&D Symposium.
Awards include poster and demonstration prizes, 8 New Investigator Travel
Awards, and the Roger
A. Bauman Award for Best Student Paper. Scientific awards and prizes are
presented to recipients at the closing general session on Sunday
morning, May 18th.

Scientific Presentations: The SIIM Program Committee has
selected these papers to be “featured presentations” within the
scientific sessions. These abstracts are considered to be examples of
outstanding science; therefore the authors will provide a more thorough
and in-depth presentation of their research at the meeting. Instead of
the normal 15-minute scientific presentation, they have been invited to
present a 30-minute talk.
