Explanation of Process Eligibility Test Content Outline

Eligibility:

The following is an outline of the eligibility model for the Imaging Informatics Certification Program.  It has been posted for community review and comment.
Eligibility for the CIIP uses a point system.  Each exam candidate must have a minimum of seven (7) points earned between the Experience, Education and/or Certification categories.

Eligible for Examination
7 points in Total

Experience Education Credentials and Continuing Education
Minimum 2 points, Maximum 5 points Minimum 0 points, Maximum 5 points Minimum 0 points, Maximum 2 points
1 point per 12 months of work experience in a health care imaging or imaging informatics related field. Education Points are not cumulative and are awarded based on highest level of education. Certification from approved list of information technology and clinical credentials = 1 point
 

No degree (but at least 30 credit hours) = 1 point

AA/AS or equivalent certificate program = 2 points

BA/BS = 4 points

Postgraduate degree = 5 points

For each 18 hours of CME/CE in imaging informatics and related disciplines taken within 18 months of the date of application = 1 point
