Report
from the Initial Planning Meeting
of the
Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Digital Mammography
Task Force

This
forum was initiated and organized by Rita Zuley, MD, Kathy
Willison RT(R)(M), Tess Wade, and Shannon DeMay of the Elizabeth
Wende Breast Clinic (a
SCAR institutional member) to
bring the clinician, manufacturer, scientist, and regulatory
bodies together in the interest of continued excellence in breast
disease diagnosis.
The goals of the forum were to establish the current state of the
art, identify issues preventing the implementation of electronic
breast imaging, including the topic of preserving image integrity
across all systems, educate all manufacturers in the user’s
needs, educate the user in the practical technical possibilities,
and together establish goals for the future of breast imaging and
paths to reach these goals. |
